Coaching course
Little Athletics Australia runs an Introduction to Coaching Course for parents, ex-athletes and other volunteers. Costs can be paid for by the centre. Even if coaching isn’t for you, the skills you learn are handy for when helping at the track and assisting athletes to perform basic skills. Officiating courses: These courses are aimed at giving new and returning parents basic but overall knowledge of athletics and combine the theory of rules and important aspects of safety, venue set up, recording results and equipment handling. See course updates.
Become a starter: This course covers theory and practical sessions outlining basic requirements including rules, technique and safety needed to become a starter at Chelsea. See course updates.
On Track: Learn more about our popular On Track program to assist at Chelsea. This interactive workshop provides theory and practical sessions demonstrating the On Track program for U6 and U7 athletes.
Parent & age group co-ordinator workshops:
Workshops can be provided in how to conduct events and manage event sites safely for athletes. We encourage all Age Group Co‐ordinators to attend one of these sessions and we highly recommend all parents to participate. Workshop dates to be confirmed pending current health advice.
